KORANGA RIVER.wmv

This movie was captured on the 20th Jan 2012 during a flyfishing trip into the out skirts of the TeUrewera's (State Forest Park). The river is only half its beauty compared to what it was like once upon time. We have had serve floods recently which knocked the hell out of the rivers and streams on the East coast and Bay of Plenty. What Trout that have survived are & will be strong healthy stock. These will fight like there is no tomorrow and take your lines into the backing so when fishing these rivers and stream contact flyfishen@xtra.co.nz and ask for me your friendly dudekiwi 30 yrs experience at fishing for trout and heaps more for eel fishing.

How to tie a Halfback PMD – with a Bead

In this short fly tying video, Capt Matt quickly ties a Halfback PMD, with a bead body. This Nymph Pattern is an every day pattern throughout the Summer months when the PMD hatch is on. This PMD nymph is tied to imitate a Mayfly that has been trapped on its shuck. This cripple nymph works well in a Hopper-dropper rig or a deep nymph setup. For an unbelievable guided fly fishing experience in the Colorado Rockies, contact Capt Matt at www.riplips.com

Tungsten Nymph.

Not a pretty fly but effective. This is a very good general purpose nymph, useful for getting deep on streams or rivers. The clipped body gives a nice profile without bulk, and the 3mm tungsten bead helps the thing to sink. I get my beads from www.funkyflytying.co.uk Good colours are Grizzle, Black and Ginger is also worth tying. Tie the same fly with an English Partridge hackle instead of the bead and you have an effective soft hackle emerger. ( Possibly a Flymph) http
