News SourceTying Bob Clouser’s Deep Minnow
This a classic pattern that is undoubtedly the most effective pattern for warm water or salt water and there are countless variations on this fly. Bob Clouser was really one of the great pioneers in tying for warm water species. Like all of my flies there are some changes made to the pattern that have found that have made the fly perform better for me. So try this pattern and see what you can come up with for your area.

News SourceFly Tying with Hans- Last Chance CDC Baetis Cripple
Rene Harrop's fly patterns were developed with an experienced eye for detail. Proven on the Henry's Fork, one of the most demanding trout fisheries in the country. The Last Chance Cripple series are great patterns for selective fish. We use this Baetis version on our local tailwater with great success. Tie in sizes 16-22 for a Baetis (aka Blue Winged Olive) Cripple. The pattern is easily adapted to imitate other mayfly species. Thanks for watching! more videos and tying materials available at: www.flyfishsd.com

News SourceHow to tie a March Brown ~ Dry Fly
This short Fly Tying Video shows how to tie a March Brown Dry Fly. This dry fly pattern is a classic among fly fishers and has remained a top Mayfly Pattern for decades. The March Brown is tied to imitate large Mayfly Duns like a Green Drake, Flavalina, or large PMD's. I remember my late friend Ron James used this fly every time he used dry flies on the Crystal River near Redstone, CO., it was his favorite. The dry fly fishing on the rivers near Aspen, CO. is as good as it gets for many months of the year, if you would like to take a guided dry fly fishing trip, go to www.riplips.com for information and booking.

This is my number one go-to nymph in both the spring and winter. This fly tying instructional video shows how to tie a thread body fly that is durable and will last through many fish. This fly has been picked up by Rainy's and is new for 2013 so even if you don't tie make sure your favorite fly shop picks them up so you can try them out. Visit flytying123.com for more fly tying instructions, and other cool fly fishing stuff.
